Guided Tours

Overview

Enjoy a guided tour of the DuPage County Historical Museum and discover the story, people, and events that shaped your community. Staff will accompany you as you journey back in time to appreciate the challenges and accomplishments of the first settlers, the innovation of the railroad and important achievements in the 21st century. Learn about the architecture of the building and the significant role it has played throughout history. Guided tours may be arranged for groups as small as 2 and as large as 30. Reservations must be made at least seven days in advance and are available during the Museum’s normal operating hours. Exceptions may be made for evening tours depending on staff availability.

Limit: 2-30 participants
Cost: $5.00 per person

Architectural Walking Tour

Enjoy a stroll through historic Downtown Wheaton. Learn about the people, businesses and important events that shaped our area. The tour begins at the DuPage County Historical Museum and proceeds through town. Discover the stories behind the railroad, the County Courthouse and more. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Approximately 1.5 miles are covered during the tour.

Cost: $10.00 per person

All About Architecture (For Kids!)

Buildings are works of art in which we live, work and learn. Join us on a special architecture tour especially for kids. Discover the stories behind the railroad, the County Courthouse and more. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Approximately 1.5 miles are covered during the tour.

Cost: $5.00 per person

Self-Guided Tours

Self-guided tours of the Museum are free, however, groups of 10 or more should contact the Museum to ensure the group gets the most out of the trip, and to verify if the date and time desired for the tour are available.
