Scrimshaw and Shrinky Dink Family Craft Workshop

September 13 | 1-3P | Museum Auditorium | FREE

Celebrate the opening of a Cabinet of Curiosities with this family craft workshop! Try the centuries old curiosity of scrimshaw by carving into candles. Or try a new curiosity of shrinking plastic art through Shrinky Dink. Developed in the 18th century, scrimshaw was carving into whalebone on ships to pass the time. Shrinky Dink was invented in the 1970s to create beautiful plastic artwork that shrinks when heated.
