“INHABITANTS”
Thursday, April 9 | 7P | DuPage County Historical Museum Auditorium | $10/person
This Award-Winning Documentary follows five Native American Tribes across deserts, coastlines, forests, and prairies as they restore their traditional land management practices. As the climate crisis escalates these time-tested practices of North America’s original inhabitants are becoming increasingly essential in a rapidly changing world.
Join us for this fundraiser that supports the DuPage County Historical Museum and McKee Preservation Group, Inc.
The McKee Preservation Group, Inc. was founded to raise capital to revitalize and repurpose the historic McKee House in DuPage County’s Churchill Woods Forest Preserve. The McKee House was built as a Civilian Conservation Corps project during the Great Depression. The McKee Preservation Group is working for the Adaptive reuse of the structure into a Native American Cultural and Environmental Center (NAC&EC) which is appropriate as it sits on what was once one of DuPage County’s largest Potawatomi village sites.
The McKee House has been left vacant to deteriorate for the last 30 years. With your help, the Native American Cultural and Environmental Center can become a reality and benefit to all of DuPage County.
