LOCAL DAR CHAPTER HOSTS AMERICAN REVOLUTION EXPERIENCE TRAVELING EXHIBIT AT THE DUPAGE COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM

WHEATON— The DuPage County Historical Museum is hosting this traveling exhibit August 17 through August 28, 2025. The American Revolution Experience exhibit is a collaborative project by the American Battlefield Trust and the Downers Grove Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
The American Revolution Experience is traveling to many libraries, historical societies and museums through 2025 introducing visitors to a cast of historical characters with diverse experiences throughout the conflict and the places they visited on their journey.
The pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation.
“Bringing the American Revolution Experience to our community allows us to honor the legacy of our Patriots and inspire a deeper appreciation for the ideals that shaped our nation. It’s a powerful reminder that history lives not only in the past – but in the stories we share today.” said Winnie Barbato, American 250 Chairman and Honorary Regent of the Downers Grove Chapter, NSDAR.
The DuPage County Historical Museum, which operates as a facility of the Wheaton Park District, is housed in a stately Richardsonian Romanesque-style building that opened in 1891 as Adams Memorial Library. It is home to more than 40,000 artifacts including a photography archive of more than 10,000 images.
The Museum is free to the public and open Monday – Friday from 8:30A to 4:30P and on weekends from noon to 4P.
